Hi! My name is Amy Smith and I am a certified birth doula and lactation counselor, though I am not a Florida native I have been here since 1989. I grew up in Philadelphia and was happy to leave the snow for the warm sunshine of Florida.
I have 4 boys. 3 out of 4 of my boys have Autism and though my path has been challenging it has given me the tenacity, love, light and compassion I feel is a necessary quality in a doula. I myself did not have a doula with any of my births, each of my sisters both had one and they each have two children. Their experiences with their doulas and the connection and bond they built was one of my deciding factors in choosing to become a doula.
It is my life’s mission to help women and couples, have the best birth experience and postpartum experience they can. My job as your doula does not end after you give birth, I look forward to building lasting connections and friendships as the years go on.
My goal as your doula is to help remind you of your strength and be there to support you 100%.
